Peggy Benson

I am a native Floridian from Brooksville, FL. My husband Joe and I have been married for 39 years. We have a daughter and a son and one grandson. In my first career I was a bookkeeper and accountant in the citrus industry. I felt the call to full time ministry in my early 50’s. I began serving my first church in 1998. In 2014 I retired from full time ministry. However, in 2015 I was appointed as interim pastor in my home church in LaBelle, FL. I was appointed to Sun Ray in July 2016. I believe that sermons should be presented in a way that engages and inspires. I am a “down to earth” type preacher. I believe that the message should challenge, comfort and even entertain as well. I try to inject humor as much as possible. I see no reason why we can’t have fun in church. Our congregation is a warm, friendly and fun group of people. We take seriously Jesus’ mandate to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and care for the sick and imprisoned. We have several fund raising projects whose sole purpose is to care for the needy. Come out and join us. Kick off your shoes, if you like, and make yourself at home. You’ll be glad you did.
